CHAMBERS

The Wieliczka Salt Mine offers nine chambers of various sizes, suitable for civil, Protestant, and Catholic weddings. The banquet halls host various types of parties, from intimate dinners for a dozen or so people to wedding receptions for several hundred guests.

Each of the chambers in the mine is unique, mainly due to the specificity of the place – a combination of history and modernity.

The breathtaking Jan Haluszka Chamber is one of the halls that is most commonly used for wedding receptions. You’ll be mesmerized by the salt ceiling that rises over 13 meters in height and the salt walls that are lit by crystal chandeliers. The uneven form of the walls and ceiling is reminiscent of the party’s one-of-a-kind setting, 135 meters underground yet so close to nature.

The Warsaw Chamber is the largest hall in the mine. A high ceiling, chandeliers hanging from it, and fanciful relief carved in salt walls, along with a combination of wooden structural elements, create a unique background for a dream wedding reception.

The Michałowice Chamber is one of the largest in the mine. Its height reaches 36 meters, and the majestic construction of wooden logs divides it into several levels. Civil and Protestant weddings are held on one of the wooden terraces. This is a unique setting for saying „yes” to a loved one.

More than 100 meters below ground level, there is a unique place where, due to its sanctified nature, only Catholic masses can take place. The chapel impresses with its space and decor entirely made of salt. Looking at the ceiling, you can see a unique chandelier made of the purest salt crystals, halite. The altar, which is also carved in salt, is adorned with salt crystals. Reliefs on the walls of the chamber depict saints and scenes from the Bible. This is a unique place for a Catholic church wedding.

The Jan Haluszka II Chamber is a small hall where salt walls are combined with a wooden finish, creating a cozy space suitable for a seated wedding reception. You can share these special moments with your loved ones while remaining enchanted by the mine’s extraordinary charm.

We can offer a second, smaller chapel available for those who wish to be married in the Catholic tradition. Unlike St. Kinga’s Chapel, the distinctive decorating of the St. John’s Chapel is attributable to the wooden altar, which, owing to its hues, adds a little of color to the salt walls.

The Drozdowice III chamber is one of several in which you can admire the carpentry craftsmanship of Wieliczka miners. White, wooden logs stand out against the gray walls, brightening the space.

The Drozdowice IV chamber is a former salt excavation that has been finished in a modern way. The hall has great acoustics. Although it is most often used for business meetings, nothing stands in the way of organizing a wedding reception here.

For people who like parties in the style of feasts, the Gwarków Chamber will be the perfect place. It is an extremely atmospheric room where you can celebrate in a unique way, the way miners like it the most – boisterously, at long wooden benches, in the bustle of cheerful conversations.
